Quickbooks POS Shopify Integration + Gift Cards

Question

Hello, I currently use Quickbooks POS at my brick and mortar store, and we have a web store built using Shopify. We are looking for a solution that can help with 3 things:

  1. Sync our web and POS inventories.
  2. Allow gift cards purchased in our brick and mortar to be used on our web store.
  3. Allow for e-gift certificates purchased on our web store to be used in our brick and mortar store.

Please let me know if this is something you can offer and what the price would be for something like that.

Thank you for your interest in Modern Retail and our Quickbooks POS Integrator. We’d love to help you with your Shopify/Quickbooks POS integration.  I think we may be able to help you, but it will depend on a couple of factors:

  • Shopify Plus
  • Gift Card Solution

However, let me answer your questions first:

  1. Yes, Quickbooks POS Integrator syncs inventory from Quickbooks with Shopify.  You can get an overview and purchase our Quickbooks Integrator here:
  2. Yes, we have successfully done this, but it all depends on the Gift Card solution you’re using. What Gift Card solution are you using now in-store?  Here’s a pretty good article on the complexities around Gift Cards, especially integrating with PC or “on premise” gift card software:
  3. This is similar to #2 but will depend on the version of Shopify you’re using.  Gift Cards are only available with Shopify Plus.  Are you a Shopify Plus customer?

As you can see, doing a successful Gift Card implementation depends on both Shopify and the Gift Card Solution you’re using.  If you’re using a software-based solution that’s installed on your PC, there will be some inherent risks with using it as the article above explains.  For this reason, we prefer a cloud-based Gift Card solution like:
