Creating a Customer Template

Overview

As part of setting your integration up for success, you'll want to create a Counterpoint customer template. In this article, we'll talk about what a customer template is, why you should create one, and what purpose customer templates have for our Modern Retail's integrations.

What is a Customer Template?

Customer Templates are a kind of example customer you can create in Counterpoint. You can configure these templates with a variety of attributes and customization options, and then set the template up to apply to any new Counterpoint customers. This makes it easy to make sure all your customers in Counterpoint behave the same way.

Why do I Need a Customer Template?

Setting up a customer template helps make a variety of features function, including 3rd party features separate from Modern Retail. One common example is Customer Loyalty. Whether you have Modern Retail's Loyalty Integration feature, or another 3rd party Loyalty option, you'll want to set up a customer template in Counterpoint so you can make sure all new customers are added to the correct loyalty program.

What Comes After the Customer Template?

Once you've created the customer template, let us know in the Onboarding Center. One of our Counterpoint specialists will help finish configuring the template so it works smoothly with your integration, and to check for any hiccups.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact your Modern Retail project manager from the Onboarding Center.
