On occasion you may notice an order without any shipping or billing information. This is confusing, since naturally an order needs to have a shipping & billing address! In this article we'll talk about what it means when you see orders like this, and what you can do about them.
Shopify POS Orders
When you see a "blank" order like this, it means it came from Shopify POS. The nature of these orders means that the shipping/billing addresses aren't recorded. On the flipside, if an email address is attached to this order, then Modern Retail's customer identity system uses the email address to check if the customer is already in our system. If they are, then the customer name will be recorded with the order. This means that the order will be added to the customer's order history, loyalty points will be accrued if you're using Modern Retail's loyalty integration, etc.
