Assigning a Cancellation/Return Reason

If you're using Modern Retail's order management, you can now assign a Cancellation or Refund reason to your orders. This help page will outline how to assign those reasons.

Assigning a Cancellation Reason

Order Management now allows you to process either a Cancellation or a Return. There are two distinctions:

  • A cancellation occurs when an invoice is present, but not a shipment/pickup/completed status.
  • A return occurs when both an invoice and a shipment/pickup/completed status is present

Three new display enhancements have been added to the order view modal window.

  1. There is now a Cancellations/Returns tab
  2. Under the Status Bar, you'll see either Cancel Order or Return Order
  3. Under the Action column, you'll see either CANCEL or RETURN

Assign a Return Reason

The process for assigning a return reason is the same as a cancellation reason, but is only available when an order has both an invoice and a shipment/pickup/completed status.

When a return is available, you'll notice two things:

  1. Under the status bar, a button for Return Order
  2. Under the Action column, a RETURN button
