If you're using Modern Retail's order management, you can now assign a Cancellation or Refund reason to your orders. This help page will outline how to assign those reasons.
Assigning a Cancellation Reason
Order Management now allows you to process either a Cancellation or a Return. There are two distinctions:
- A cancellation occurs when an invoice is present, but not a shipment/pickup/completed status.
- A return occurs when both an invoice and a shipment/pickup/completed status is present
Three new display enhancements have been added to the order view modal window.
- There is now a Cancellations/Returns tab
- Under the Status Bar, you'll see either Cancel Order or Return Order
- Under the Action column, you'll see either CANCEL or RETURN
To Cancel an entire order, click on Cancel Order.
In a new modal window, you will see the list of Cancellation Reasons. Under "Why is the order being cancelled?" select the correct radio button, and Save.
If you wish to cancel an item or items on an order, click on the Cancel button under the Action column.
In the modal window, under "Why is the item being cancelled" select the radio button, and click Save.
After you've completed a cancellation, you can view the Cancellations/Returns tab and see the cancellation information as well as the reason.
Assign a Return Reason
The process for assigning a return reason is the same as a cancellation reason, but is only available when an order has both an invoice and a shipment/pickup/completed status.
When a return is available, you'll notice two things:
- Under the status bar, a button for Return Order
- Under the Action column, a RETURN button
To return an entire order, click on Return Order under the status bar.
In the new modal window, under "Why is the order being returned?" select the radio button next to the desired reason, and click Save.
If you wish to return an item or items, from the order view, under the Action column, click the Return button.
In the new modal window, under "Why is the item being returned?" select the desired radio button, and click Save.
After you've completed a return, you can view the Cancellations/Returns tab and see the return information as well as the reason.
