Overview
Occasionally we get customers who want to set a specific price on a product, or products, for specific customers. Changing pricing for different individuals on the fly like this is called Dynamic Pricing, and it's doable in BigCommerce with the help of our Contract Pricing module. In this article, we'll talk about how Dynamic Pricing works, and what you can do with it.
Dynamic Pricing
Here are the basics on how dynamic pricing works from a customer perspective:
Let's say you have a special loyalty club made up of customers who get 10% off your products, and you want to extend that special offer to those same customers on your online store. In order to do this, we'd need to set up a list of all the customers you want to get this discount (specifically with their email addresses). From there, whenever those customers log in on your site they would see the discounted prices.
Nifty, right? We make it work with a combination of the "Real Time Pricing" from our Contract Pricing module, and the Server to Server Cart API feature from BigCommerce. The numbers, customer group, and products from the above example can all be configured to suit your needs, so you don't have to worry about unnecessary limitations.
If you have any questions or want this feature for your integration, please feel free to contact us from our website. Or, if you're already a client, with a support request.
