Overview
Many retailers rely on products with variables, or "variable products" for their stores. A variable product is any product with variables; things like size, color, or style are all popular examples. In this article, we'll talk about how we recommend setting up variable products in Epicor Eagle.
Style/Color/Size
When variable products flow through the integration, the product type is automatically set to "variable", and the variations, or "options" are added to the product. Typically only 1-2 options are used (size and color, generally).
When creating variable products for Epicor Eagle, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- In the Epicor Compass report, all the sub-items for a variable product need to have the same "Parent Style Number", or SKU.
- The item description for each item must be the same, and should not have the size or color appended to the description.
- There must be a size or color present.
- There should be a row in the file for the parent product. This row won't have a size or color option present, but all the other factors are required.
Epicor Eagle's Soft Goods module performs the above automatically.
