Overview
Similar to Template SKUs, Direct Ship SKUs are a tool for Epicor Eagle that can assist clients who use Drop Shipping, or who sell products directly from vendors on their site. In this article we'll talk about what Direct Ship SKUs are, and why you might want to use them.
What are Direct Ship SKUs?
Much like Template SKUs, Direct Ship SKUs are a product flag used for products you're selling on your site that don't exist in Epicor Eagle. When a product with a Direct Ship SKU is sold on your website, it is automatically created in Epicor Eagle.
There are two primary differences between Direct Ship and Template SKUs:
- Orders involving Direct Ship SKUs go down as open orders, while Template SKU orders can go down as invoices.
- When a product with a Direct Ship SKU is sold & created in Epicor Eagle, invetory does not automatically decrement as it does with Template SKUs.
Additionally, depending on how your system is configured, Direct Ship SKU orders may create a purchase order in Epicor Eagle. Get in touch with Modern Retail via a support request to see if this is a possibility for you, or if you have any other questions about Direct Ship SKUs.
