Handling API Keys

Overview

Once we've installed the Integrator to your WooCommerce site, we'll need to configure API keys for WooCommerce from the Modern Retail Admin Panel. This article will briefly go over what this means.

What is Modern Retail Doing?

An API key, if you're not familiar, is sort of like a password used to let two programs work together. API keys authenticate a developer or program for an Application Programming Interface, or API. In this instance, we're using an API key from our Admin Panel by entering it into your WooCommerce site, so your WooCommerce site can interact with the Admin Panel without anything going wrong.

Setting the Integrator to Auto-Update

One of the settings we tweak during setup is "auto-update". Having this enabled means your WooCommerce integrator will update automatically when we put out a new update, without you needing to manually trigger the patch. This means that when we put out new features, or fix a bug, or make important quality of life changes, those things will be applied automatically.

If you have further questions, feel free to get in touch with your Project Manager. You can also let us know if, for some reason, you do not want auto-update enabled.
