Overview
Ship From Store is an important feature for businesses with multiple location. Ship From Store allows you to control how your shipments are sent to customers based on things like inventory and location. This article will summarize what Ship From Store is, how it works, and whether or not you should be considering it for your business.
What Does Ship From Store Do?
The most important part of Ship From Store is the control it grants you over how your deliveries are fulfilled. Using "Rules" that you can create and edit from the Admin Panel, you can control a whole host of specific factors for your shipments, most notably whether orders from different locations ship from any warehouse, or the one closest to the customer.
Do I Need Ship From Store?
Ship From Store is primarily useful for businesses with multiple stores or locations. If you have more than one store, Ship From Store can be incredibly useful for managing shipments involving multiple locations. If you only have one location, then Ship From Store is not necessary for your business (however our other delivery features like Local Delivery and Curbside Pickup are useful regardless of how many locations you have!).
How Does Ship From Store Work?
Ship From Store works based off two simple principles. First, it allows you to assign a location to an order, meaning that specific location will be the one fulfilling that order. Second, it passes orders from your platform to a delivery service (Often a third party delivery service like ShipStation or Roadie), so they know how to complete that order.
