I was just informed by our accountant that the pay code assigned to internet sales is "cash", when it used to be shown as "authorize.net". Can you help with this? Thank you!
Yes, we'd be happy to help you configure the Pay Codes in Counterpoint. There are three parameters typically configured around Pay Codes:
- Pay code
- The pay code can be anything you want. Most people find Web to work quite well.
- Pay code type
- The pay code type must be Cash.
- The Pay code type must be Cash, because no other type will work. We could not, for example, use Visa or MasterCard, because Counterpoint would think it was a real card and would try to process the credit card transaction. Instead, the act of charging the person's credit card is done on your website, not in Counterpoint.
- You can assign anything you want to this General Ledger Account, it's completely up to you and your accountant.
