Product Staging Error

Question:

I am not seeing some products come over to BigCommerce from the Admin Panel. In the Admin Panel, these products are showing an error from BigCommerce that says One or more assigned category ids do not exist:32. What is this error, and how can I fix it?

Answer:

That error message means that the staging category has been deleted. Every time Modern Retail sets up an integration in BigCommerce, we map new products to the default BigCommerce category called Staging. Staging is where new products from the Admin Panel are sent to be staged-meaning make them ready to be viewable on your website. Since this category was deleted, there is no place for new products to go, so no new products were created.

To fix this, submit a support request for our support team to create a new category for staging with a new category ID. The category ID will be used in the integration code so that new products are able to flow to your website.
