Exchanging Items in an Order

Overview

It's not uncommon for a customer to reach out to exchange products from an order they have already placed. Editing orders to replace/add/remove products is not currently supported in the Modern Retail integration, but on this page, we will outline what your options are to get your customer their desired products.

Create a New Transaction

Exchanging products in an order where funds have already been captured is not supported by the Modern Retail integrator. Instead, your customer will need to return the unwanted products, receive their refund, and then place a new order for the correct products. This is true for all types of exchanges; for example, placing an order for a medium shirt and wanting to exchange it for a small.
