Computer Rx WinScan Website Integration

Question

I’ve reached out to our Computer Rx rep about getting their software integrated with our website.  She said to the best of her knowledge, an integration with WinScan has never been done before. What happens if WinScan can't do an integration?

Answer

Thank you for your interest in Modern Retail.  I wouldn't worry too much as we almost always can find a way to do an integration with a POS system.

May I make a suggestion?  Could you please e-mail your representative at Computer Rx and let them know you’re interested in getting WinScan integrated with your WooCommerce website?  If you copy me on the message, I’ll immediately reply asking to set up a meeting with Computer Rx.  I’m sure if we get our development teams talking, we can figure out the easiest way of doing this integration with WinScan.

To set your mind at ease, we can always use an "inventory report" from Computer Rx.  Every POS system we've ever encountered has a report showing prices, description, quantity on hand (QOH), etc.  Using this report, we can do what we call a "one-way integration" with your website.  Meaning, we would use this report to update the website with products and change the price and QOH of those products already on the site.  The following article is a little technical, but it explains what we need to make this happen:

While this approach does not send your online orders to Computer Rx, it does automate the synchronization of your product catalog, which is probably 90% of the work.

Take a look and let me know what you think.  Thank you.
