Amazon announced today a new service which allows us to easily provision, manage, and deploy Secure Sockets Layer / Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) certificates on all our AWS servers. With AWS Certificate Manager, we can quickly request a certificate, deploy it on AWS resources such as Elastic Load Balancers or Amazon CloudFront distributions, and let AWS Certificate Manager handle certificate renewals. SSL/TLS certificates provisioned through AWS Certificate Manager are free!
This new service will be a welcome addition to our clients using Magento as their e-commerce platform. Not only are Amazon's new certificates secure, they're also easier to deploy and will automatically update when they come up for renewal. This new service will save our clients a lot of money and, frankly, alleviate some headaches for Modern Retail.
