Question
I represent a design studio and we are developing a proposal for a client that needs an e-commerce site integrated with their ERP, which was developed here in Chile. We were told that it uses web services, so it should be possible. Our intention is to develop this site using WooCommerce, but we don't have any experience on integration with ERP's, so we would like to work with you, and thus we need an estimate.
The ERP used by our client is called INET and is developed by Informat, here in Chile. Their site is regretfully in Spanish. Do you have any Spanish speaking representatives? I’m not sure if the ERP providers have English speaking staff.
Answer
Yes, we have a Spanish-speaking representative here at Modern Retail who would love to help. In fact, he used to live in Chile for 6 months and Chicago for the other 6 months. His name is Scot.
I think we need to get Scot, our developers and Informat's developers on the phone together to see if we can figure out this integration for you. We have a variety of integration approaches which are documented here:
My guess is we can use Informat's web services to connect their application programming interface (API) to our API and Middleware. If that's true, it shouldn't be too hard, and we should be able to get Informat Inet integrated with WooCommerce for you.
May I make a suggestion? Could you please ask your client to e-mail their representative at Informat and let them know you’re interested in getting their application integrated with their WooCommerce website? If you copy me on the message, I’ll immediately reply asking to set up a meeting with Informat. Getting our developers to talk with their developers even for 30 minutes makes a huge difference and can really help to “jump start” the integration efforts.
Thank you.
