Question
I work for a shoe store that has been in business since 1913. We've sold over 1.8 million shoes the old fashioned way – but now we are moving into the digital world. We sell about 20 pairs of shoes a day on Amazon, and we are currently setting up our E-commerce site on squarespace. Soon we will have 3 streams of distribution and well… it's getting difficult to manage. Can you help us find a solution?
To recap, we use Rics as our POS, Amazon for internet sales and Squarespace for E-Commerce.
Answer
Thank you for contacting Modern Retail. We have a lot of clients with the exact same setup (an integration with a POS system and needing to integrate with marketplaces like Google, Amazon, eBay, etc.). Typically, the integration is done between the POS system and the e-commerce platform (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Bigcommerce, etc.), and then these platforms send the data to the marketplaces. We’ve found this approach to be easier because you “merchandise” the product in the e-commerce platform (write a nice product name, description, upload images, etc.), which of course is very useful for the marketplaces as well.
We don’t currently have an integration with Squarespace, I’m sorry, and would need to move you to either Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento or Bigcommerce if you were interested in our services. I suspect if you’re growing, you might be busting out of what Squarespace offers you anyhow.
What do you think?
