I usually import images into Store Manager, in the department pages. Is there a way to import photos for this area from WordPress? If there is, can it be scheduled like I was able to do with a home page slide?

There is no way to import directly from WordPress into Store Manager. You should be able to add the WordPress URL for the image into the headers, but there is no image icon that will pull directly from WordPress.
Headers are pulled through the API into WordPress. As such, there is no scheduling for this.
