Creating Categories

To create a new category for your website, follow these steps. 

  1. Go to CatalogManage Categories.
  2. Select Default Category (on the left hand side) if you want to add a new main category. *
  3. Click Add Subcategory button.
  4. Fill in mandatory fields marked with a red asterisk on the General Tab. Make sure you make it active and include it in the navigation menu!
  5. Save category.

*If you want to create subcategories, click on the main category you want the subcategory to fall under instead of Default Category in Step 2.

Special Note: If you want to be able to use a filter in a category, set the Is Anchor on the Display Settings tab to Yes.
