Overview
Modern Retail's Counterpoint integrator does a variety of complicated things using the data we get from your Counterpoint installation. Because of how our integrator works, certain characters may cause issues in when used for certain things. In this article, we'll talk about one of the few instances of this.
Pipes and Gridded Products
The main example for the above issue is the " | " character (found in the upper right of a traditional QWERTY character, beneath the backspace button), which we'll refer to as a pipe for the rest of this article. Pipe characters cannot be used for gridded product names in Counterpoint. This is because the Modern Retail integrator uses the " | " to separate product variations like size or color.
You can still use the "|" character for non-gridded products without a problem; this is only a limitation for gridded products. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us with a support request.
