Modern Retail's Loyalty integration features the ability to have a loyalty program that operates both in-store and online. Purchases reward the customer with loyalty points that they can redeem to reduce the price of their future purchases. In this article, we're going to discuss how our Loyalty Integration works with BigCommerce specifically.
Our Loyalty Integration makes use of BigCommerce's "Store Credit" feature. This means customers must be logged in to see or redeem their loyalty points; this applies to checkout as well. Loyalty points will not be automatically visible or redeemed based on checkout; the customer must be logged in. Despite using the store credit feature, loyalty values are not visible in BigCommerce on your end. For you, the storeowner, to see loyalty values, you'll want to check the Admin Panel. Additionally, Loyalty Points must be redeemed all at once, or not at all. Partial redemptions aren't possible. Customers are, of course, given the option to pay the remaining cost with "real" money if their loyalty points doesn't cover the entire cost.
