With the MR integration to Counterpoint re: loyalty, could customers enroll in the loyalty program and receive points when they are making a purchase? Or, do they have to be enrolled in the loyalty program in Counterpoint before they can earn/use points?
There are two parts to this question:
- Matching Customers for Loyalty
- Loyalty Redemption
For every integration, we match the online customer with the in-store customer using their email address (primary key). As a secondary key, we can also match on the customer’s phone number. This matching is what makes loyalty work.
We also have the ability to allow customers to redeem their loyalty “points” on the website. This works by integrating with the loyalty program built into Counterpoint.
