Overview
Epicor Eagle has a feature called "Category Plans" that can be used to configure tiered pricing, a common request, especially from our B2B clients. In this article we'll talk about what category plans are, what tiered pricing is, and why you might want to use either of them.
Category Plans & Tiered Pricing
Category Plans are a type of report from Epicor Eagle that tells us which customers are in which groups. So, for example, you might put a set of preferred customers in group A, a set of potential or prospective customers in group B, etc.
We can use these category plans to show customers in different groups different prices. So, for example, if you have regular high-volume customers you wanted to reward with a discount in group A and prospective clients you want to encourage in group B, you could show all group A customers -15% prices, all group B customers -5% prices, all while your ungrouped customers see regular prices. If you have a good relationship with your customers, or if you want to reward return customers, this can be a powerful tool to incentivize consumer behavior.
