Overview
Shopify recently introduced "Product Status", a new setting used to indicate whether a product is "live" or not. The new "Active" and "Draft" statuses replaced the previous published/unpublished options, and they offer similar functionality. In this article, we'll talk about what you need to know regarding product status, and how it affects our integration.
Product Status
There are two potential options for product status: "Active", meaning the product is live, and can potentially display on your website, or "Draft", meaning the product exists as a record on Shopify, but will not display on your website. If you're familiar with other ecommerce platforms, it's essentially along the lines of something being "published" vs "unpublished".
Currently we have things hardcoded so any new products are automatically created as "drafts", to prevent unfinished products from showing up on your site. You'll have to manually set each product to "active", as well as set the channel, title, images, etc. if you aren't pleased with how they display by default. All of this can be done on the individual product page in Shopify.
