Modern Retail is happy to extend our Loyalty Integration to the WooCommerce platform. In this article, we'll talk a little bit about what our loyalty integration does, and why it's exciting that we can now offer this feature for WooCommerce.
Loyalty programs are a popular way for retailers to encourage repeat customers by offering an incentive for multiple purchases from the same store. Many platforms and POS systems offer some form of loyalty program; Modern Retail, however, is offering a way to integrate your loyalty program so customer purchases online or in-store both earn loyalty "points". This helps encourage crossover business between your online and in-store customers, as well as giving your customers more choice in how they purchase from you.
Modern Retail's Loyalty Integration works by matching "customer identity" between online and in-store orders. When a customer makes an order online (or in your store), their email address is recorded, and the integrator checks to see if that email address has already been used. If so, the loyalty points from that purchase are applied to that customer, and if not, a new customer identity is created so the next time they make an online or in-store purchase loyalty points are properly rewarded.
