Overview
Gift cards and eGift cards are an important part of modern business. In this article we'll discuss the best way to set up your Shopify eGift cards, so you can start selling them ASAP!
Other Requirements
In order to enable Shopify Plus eGift cards, you'll also have to enable two specific API "scopes". Depending on your integration, these may already be enabled; you can follow the instructions in this article to make sure everything is configured correctly.
To begin, log in to your Shopify store. You'll want to go to the Apps menu on the left hand side, as displayed below.
Once you've clicked on Apps on the menu on the left, you'll want to click on App and sales channel settings. This will take you to a new settings page. On this page, select Develop apps in the upper right corner.
After clicking on Develop apps, you'll be taken to a list of custom apps in use by your store. One of these should be labeled MRintegrator. Click on that app to proceed.
On this page, select Configure Admin API scopes. This page is where you control what permissions the custom app has.
On this page, you'll want to find the gift card permissions. You can do this either by scrolling through the list of API scopes, or by typing "gift" in the search bar. Once you've found the correct API scopes (pictured above), make sure both write_gift_cards and read_gift_cards are enabled. Once both are checked off, hit Save in the upper right corner.
That should be the last step! Once everything's been configured, you can create and merchandise your eGift cards like you would any other product.
