Question

Why do we see two transactions for every order in Authorize.net?

Answer

This is perfectly normal!  When you are using Authorize.net's CIM module, you will see this for every credit card order.  When using the CIM feature, 2 transactions are created for every order:

  1. The first transaction will be for .01 and is used as a "test" or float transaction to create the customer's profile & token in Authorize.net.
  2. The second transaction is the actual authorization for the order. When that one is approved the first test transaction is voided.

Shopper's never see the initial test transaction on their accounts.
