Overview
Flipsnack is a powerful tool that allows you to upload marketing pdfs and catalogs and display them on your site. The service does require a subscription. Pricing is available here. The steps below will take you through the basic management of your flipbook.
- After logging into Flipsnack, upload your pdf file.
- After uploading your flipbook; you'll see it listed on the "All Flipbooks" page.
- Now you can edit the settings; click "edit" under the flipbook.
- On the settings tab; the defaults will be:
- Widget Type: Classic
- Layout Style: Single Page
- Tooltip Language: English
- These defaults are fine but of course can be changed as needed!
- Background Color: This applies a background that often looks like a bar behind your flipbook. The color can be changed to anything you like. Transparent is a great option because it doesn't distract from the Flipbook.
- The Fullscreen Control Defaults are:
- Allow Fullscreen: Enabled
- Enable PDF Download
- This is typically NOT checked.
- Enable PDF Print
- Disabled
- Thumbnail Navigation: Enabled
- Show Share Options: Enabled
- Show Share Options: Enabled
- Search: Disabled
- After adjusting or updating any settings, click Next.
- On the next screen, Publish your changes. Remember, your Flipbook is not live until you add the code to your site - publishing is safe!
- On the next screen or from the fipbook dashboard, select "embed" to get the flipbook's code.
- On the next screen, select Embed one more time.
- Be sure to check the "responsive" box so that your flipbook displays properly on mobile.
- Using the Copy button, copy the code.
Now that you're Flipbook is ready, it's time to move to your platform to add the code to your site.
- Open a page on your platform (Magento, Wordpress, Shopify)
- In Magento, you need to hide the WYSIWYG editor; in Wordpress, click the text tab on the far right side of the content field.
- Paste the code into the editor.
- Save your page.
- Your flipbook should be published and ready to share!
Flipbooks can be customized by adding links, videos, additional images and more. To do this you need to click Edit from the dashboard and then open the Editor.
