How would we take our current NCR Counterpoint and move it ? We have over 10,000 items loaded now. Also, we are currently using Magento 1 and have been made aware that by end of 2018, we would need an entire new website rebuild to go to the Magento 2 platform. We are looking at what other platforms offer, due to that huge cost. I have been talking with someone from Shopify and they are running a special for free transfer of hosts and 6 months hosting free if purchased by end of this month.

You’re exactly right there’s a huge cost to both staying with Magento 1 and moving to Magento 2. Yes, Magento 2 is a completely different ecommerce platform Magento 1, which is going to require your website developer to redo your site in Magento 2. From an integration standpoint, our Counterpoint Integrator works with either Magento 1 or 2.

Just so you know we really like Magento and have been building websites on it for years. We’ve built over 100 website and have exclusively built Magento 2 sites since January 2016. We love Magento and believe sometimes it’s the only ecommerce platform that will work. However, if what you’re trying to do can be accomplished in Shopify, then you should use Shopify! Shopify is an easier platform to use with a much lower life-cycle cost.
Yes, that promotion with Shopify runs to the end of the month but I believe only if you sign up for their Shopify Plus program.
